Why are they still selling Halloween themed "Rice Krispies Squares" in March?

About a week ago, Sainsbury's delivered this pack of four "Gooey Marshmallow" flavoured "Rice Krispies Squares" to my family's house.

Except they weren't "Squares".

They were SCARES:

Yes, that's right. Sainsbury's is still selling the Halloween themed variant of Gooey Marshmallow Squares (called Ooey Gooey Marshmallow) at the end of March.

Almost 5 whole months have passed since Halloween and even after we've had Christmas, New Year, Valentine's day and Pancake day we are still getting these. At this point some may even see this as a premature tie-in to THIS year's Halloween.

But seriously, Here's the best explanation I can come up with for why this is happening:

Perhaps they WERE originally sent to store shelves all that time ago before last year's Halloween.

But they must have greatly overestimated how many of these would be sold during the Halloween period, to the point that they still haven't been able to sell all of them to this day.

Supporting this theory is the packaging saying that these were made back in September of last year.
Halloween themed or not these still taste brilliant but apparently a lot of people like making these themselves at home so maybe I should try that a some point.
